Good Bye!Hamburg Süd!
Good Bye!Hamburg Süd!

Maersk has reinvented this venerable name in the German shipping industry, and the old clothes are getting a new look. The Hamburg Süd brand will henceforth slowly fade into obscurity, and this is beginning to be reflected in the renaming and repainting of the first ships...

According to Alphaliner, the first ships of Hamburg Süd's "Hamburg Süd" have been in and out of dry dock recently, Maersk's blue ship paint has covered the famous red of the German shipping company, and the ships have also been renamed, such as "Cap San Nicolas" .Now it was "San Nicolas Maersk" and also had a different hull marking.

From now on, Maersk ships - including a long-awaited series of methanol-fueled new buildings - will use white hull markings instead of the previous black, and Maersk's seven-star logo will now be more prominently displayed on the hull.

Maersk announced at the end of January that its other shipping and logistics related brands will gradually be merged under the Maersk single brand. This includes shipping lines including the 152-year-old Hamburg Süd, acquired in 2017.

According to the plan, the shipping and logistics brands under Maersk, such as SeaLand, Twill, Senator, LF Logistics and Martin Bencher, will also be gradually integrated under the Maersk Maersk brand.

Maersk's integration strategy will unify all the group's former liner brands under one unified carrier name and color scheme. This means that these long-established shipping brands will gradually disappear from now on.

"Hamburg Süd", a world-renowned shipping brand founded in 1871 with a history of 152 years, is about to say goodbye to everyone!
